Where young entrepreneurs find each other
Wahine Wisse

Entrepreneurship often seems like something individual, but in practice that is exactly what makes it so vulnerable. As a former Communication student at HZ and founder of the Workwave Community, Wahine is building a new generation of entrepreneurs in Zeeland. Not alone, but together.
Workwave
From her own experience as a starting entrepreneur, she saw how vulnerable that early stage can be. A limited network, few people to spar with, and sometimes even the doubt: do I stay here, or do I go somewhere else? Instead of accepting this, she decided to change it.
With Workwave, she created an accessible community in which young entrepreneurs find each other, strengthen one another, and help each other move forward. Start-ups and more experienced entrepreneurs are intentionally connected, creating a dynamic mix of new ideas and practical experience.
Collective development
What makes Workwave strong is this thoughtful combination of levels and needs. During co-working days, think tank sessions, and shared admin days, an environment emerges in which knowledge sharing and collaboration become natural. Entrepreneurship thus becomes not an individual search, but a shared development process.
The impact is now clearly visible. What started as a small initiative has grown into an active community of nearly 100 young entrepreneurs who seek each other out, collaborate, and inspire one another. The result is not only personal growth, but also a stronger and more resilient entrepreneurial climate in Zeeland.
Retention of talent in the region
At the same time, Workwave addresses a broader issue. By connecting young entrepreneurs and offering them perspective, the initiative contributes to retaining talent in the region. It shows that you do not have to build a business alone here, and that there is real strength in the network around you.
Wahine shows that entrepreneurship is not only about seizing opportunities, but also about creating opportunities for others. By putting connection at the centre, she changes the way young entrepreneurs experience both their work and their future.
