Public transport in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is a small and densely populated country with an excellent public transport system. With this app, you can plan your journey to and from any location in the Netherlands with public transport. The OV-chipkaart is the payment method for public transport in the Netherlands. If you carry an OV-chipkaart with you, you no longer need to think about bus, train or metro tickets. There are two different types of OV-chipkaart: • An anonymous card without any discount; • A personal card, for which you need a Dutch debit card (or PayPal for students with an address in Belgium, Germany or Luxembourg.

Your first train ticket in the Netherlands

What to do when you arrive at the airport? Unfortunately, you do not have your OV-chipkaart yet, that is why ISIC offers you your first train ticket in the Netherlands for a reduced rate if you choose to apply for student mobility package!

Important note: If you have decided not to get to ISIC/OV-chipkaart, you can buy a train ticket at one of the NS ticket machines or ticket desks at the airport.

Arrival in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

When you arrive at Schiphol Airport, getting to Zeeland by train is straightforward. You can purchase a one-way second-class ticket to Vlissingen for around €31.10 via NS ticket machines, service desks, or online. The journey usually takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours with one or two transfers, often at Rotterdam or Leiden Central stations. Arrival in Eindhoven Airport

From Eindhoven Airport, the train station is reachable by a short bus ride (bus lines 400 or 401) to Eindhoven Central Station. A one-way ticket to Vlissingen costs about €25.90 without discounts, with a total travel time of roughly 2.5 to 3 hours and one or two transfers.
