Registration with the municipality

If you are staying in the Netherlands for more than four months, you will need to go to the municipality and register as a new resident of the town where you are living.

After registration, you will receive your citizen service number (BSN number) by postal mail.

You need to bring your:

1. ID/Passport 2. Birth certificate (only for NON-EU students and EU-students who are staying longer than 1 year) 3. Rental contract
