Student loan or student finance

Make sure you can cover all your expenses for your study abroad period before you arrive in Vlissingen or Middelburg. It is hard to find additional funding once you are in The Netherlands. You might be eligible for a student loan or student finance. To find out whether you are entitled to a form of financial support, check the website of DUO.

Cost of living

Non EU-students As a non-EU student you are requested to transfer €13.140* to cover the cost of living as specified above in the table. You will receive an invoice from HZ as from May 2025. This invoice includes the required amount for ‘living expenses’ of €13.140 and the tuition fees. This proof of having sufficient means is required by the Dutch Immigration Services (IND). Once you have arrived in The Netherlands and have opened a Dutch bank account HZ will transfer the amount of €13.140 back to your account (if necessary, the cost of accommodation will be deducted if you choose this option and rent a room through housing corporation APV).
